Carrie Zander is the head trainer at PrairieSun Stables. Carrie grew up riding both dressage and jumping, and competed in Hunter/jumpers. She has a wealth of teaching experience, including instructing Pony Club, and traveled to the UK to become a certified British Horse Society instructor. Carrie is committed to further improving her riding and training skills and regularly attends clinics in both dressage and jumping. She enjoys working with young horses, from starting basic handling, to breaking, to finishing.
Carrie’s true specialty lies in working with riders with confidence issues, and helping them to create a functional, secure, and effective riding style. Carrie also has a special interest in fitness, and the importance of proper conditioning for both horse and rider to achieve maximum performance in the saddle. Soundness and happiness for the horse is the chief priority here at PrairieSun Stables; Carrie makes a great effort to work closely with the vet and farrier to create a program that aims to ensure the longest & most successful career possible for each individual horse.
Lessons are available on both your own horse and on lesson horses. We welcome trailer-in lessons, and are also happy to take horses in for training.
